Happy New Year everyone!!!
2011 is going to be a great one. I’m sure of it!
I have had a wonderful time hanging out with family, relaxing, cooking and eating some great food, staying in my pajamas, playing games and playing with a few of my new Christmas toys.
I’m super excited about my new alphabet cookie cutter set. This set was found at my local cake store, but I found the same brand on this site.
Kathryn and I had a “girls night” with our sister in laws and we decorated our names. We even decorated and initial for our husbands and talked about how much we love them. He he. (The newlyweds are rubbing off).
I didn’t get picture of all of them, but Sarah made a cute beach scene, that I had to take a picture of.
The next day, my kids got in on the action:
Oh yes, I have big plans for these letter cookie cutters. Maybe I’m sentimental because I used my mom’s old set to ask my boyfriend (now husband) to the sadie hawkins dance in high school. I cut out the whole message in jello jigglers. I just know these will come in handy in 13 years when my son asks a girl to prom. I can dream, right?
Speaking of dreams… another one came true when my husband made all of my mixer dreams come true. (I can get really excited about simple things. Kathryn has a video of when I got the cardstock swatch I wanted. Total freak out.)
But really, isn’t she beautiful.
I’ve been wanting this beautiful glass bowl for my mixer ever since it debuted on the anniversary “candy apple red” edition of the kitchen aid mixer. But I couldn’t commit to red. My dream mixer was stainless (to match appliances) with the glass bowl. I got the mixer for Mother’s Day. Then I noticed they started selling the bowl separately. I got asked to teach a little cooking class at a holiday party and my husband just knew I would look professional with this baby. So he bought it for me and gave it to me as an early Christmas gift. (Total freak out again- no video this time.)
And I got the new scraper attachment too. No more stopping to scrape the bowl. This baby does it for me. Awww yeah!
So now, with my cheese grater and pasta attachments, I basically have a tricked out mixer.
Forgive me for my vanity. I promise I’m a simple, jeans and sweatshirt wearing, humble girl. (Except when it comes to my rad kitchen tools.)
So now that I’ve gone on a tangent that sounds a lot like a kitchenaid commercial, I’ll get back to wishing you a Happy New Year!!! I’m so excited about new creative endeavors and the possibilities that a fresh new year brings!
