Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!  That just about describes my Valentine’s cookies this year!

Something Old:

I have been filling little Valentine mailboxes with cookies for years now.  The first time I documented it was in 2011 here on the blog!  If you’d like a good laugh, and to see how far I’ve come, take a look at “Valentine’s Mailboxes 2011.”

Here is the 2018 version:

Another oldie but goodie are “lip cookies.”  Royal icing makes the perfect lip imprint by just simple zig-zagging.  I’ve always loved this look.  This year I added a little glittery gloss to my normal lips.  Pretty fun!

Something New:

You know I love a good Kate Spade effect.  And the black and white stripes (plus gold and floral) go right within that theme!  I designed this medium boxed set with a “Galentine” in mind!

I made my mini set with ballet colors in mind.  Black, white and light pink is a simple but sweet color scheme, and everyone loves minis!  Next, I added a cookie tic-tac-toe set because Target calls my name with it’s cute stuff!

Something Borrowed:

I’m always inspired by other “cookiers” and cookie shops.  I had to use the adorable hedgehog and cactus cutter from The Sweet Design Shoppe this year.  I mean, COME ON!!!  Too cute!

I also borrowed a couple ideas from Buttercup Love Designs with their stencils!  I love the edible maze and the PYO owls stencil!

Something Blue:

Ahh, yes, my favorite Valentine’s color scheme.  Is red, pink and turquoise!  So I made some simple “Happy Valentine’s Day, Name cookie and “I love us,” cookies in my favorite color scheme!
